After two decades working in data, you start to notice patterns. One of the biggest? The people doing the real data work don't always have “data” in their title.

They are running operations. Talking to customers. Choosing technology. Entering information. Questioning reports. Defining what "good" looks like. Making decisions.

And yet these incredibly capable people tend to hesitate when the conversation turns to data. The terminology gets technical. The experts enter the room. Suddenly, something you understand deeply feels like it's no longer yours to question.

I disagree.

The most valuable questions I've ever encountered have come from the people closest to the work, the ones who notice that something doesn't add up, that a process doesn't make sense, or the prescribed solution doesn't match the problem actually being experienced.

That's because the hardest data problems rarely belong to data alone. They live in the space between data, technology, operations and culture.

That's where I like to work.

I founded SynergyWorks to bring deep data expertise, real-world pattern recognition, and a business-first perspective into that space. Not to arrive with the answer already decided, but to help uncover what's really going on, which rocks actually need to move, and which aren't worth today's energy.
